Dana White Says UFC 254 Main Event "Is Trending Off The Charts"

Dana White is going to be Octagon side this weekend at UFC 254, when Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje meet in a lightweight title unification fight in the main event.

One thing that White recently revealed is that the UFC 254 main event is trending towards being the biggest bout in UFC history.

“This thing is trending off the charts for us right now,” Dana White said to TMZ Sports (via Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com). “So, today is Tuesday and on Monday, this thing was trending to be the biggest fight we have ever had. Not Thursday, not Friday, Monday.”

The biggest event in UFC history was UFC 229, but White doesn’t expect UFC 254 to beat the event as a whole, due to the UFC 254 main card starting in the afternoon in North America. White says the fact that the event is airing in the afternoon in North America could affect its trending numbers in a negative way.

“It is trending bigger than that right now,” White said. “Will the trend hold? One of the things that is a big negative for us is that it is not in primetime at home and it is hard to message that to people.”
