UFC President Dana White isn't so high on the idea of UFC women's strawweight champion Rose Namajunas rematching former champ Carla Esparza for her next title defense.
White spoke with the media following Namajunas' split-decision victory in her rematch against Weili Zhang at UFC 268 this past Saturday night and was non-committal to giving Esparza the next title shot at 115-pounds. White's lack of interest in the matchup comes despite Namajunas' insisting she'd love to face Esparza next and the fact that the 34-year old Torrance, California native is currently on a five-fight winning streak.
“We have an option,” White said (h/t MMA Fighting). “You don’t sit around and wait for fights, it’s a really bad idea.”
