Bobby Moffett Looks To Prove He's The Better Striker Against Chas Skelly In His UFC Debut

Bobby Moffet is stepping into the Octagon for the first time at UFC Fight Night Denver, with his opponent on that night being Chas Skelly.

While some fighters who are making their UFC debuts may want to fight a particular opponent, a major goal for Moffet was just to get the win.

Jon Jones: Tom Aspinall Is Such An Asshole That I Don't Want To Do Business With Him

“I didn’t look too much into the division, I know my manager, after I got signed, was like ‘you should take a look and see if there is anybody out there that you are interested in particularly.’ I didn’t think too much about it, I knew that I got a fight and it was going to be against a tough person either way. They’re all UFC fighters, so I was just looking forward to getting that first win in there,” says Moffet in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.

Moffet has found success outside of the UFC, including having challenged for the Resurrection Fighting Alliance Featherweight Title in June of 2016.

The debuting Moffet also has a plan as to how he’ll get that coveted first UFC win at UFC Fight Night Denver.

“I see…he’s gonna come out hard in the first round, its gonna be a really hard round. I think he’s gonna come out kind of strong and near the second half of the first round, I’m gonna start taking advantage of his pressure and stuff. I think I’m gonna win the small moments, that’s the biggest thing in this fight. Then in the second round, he’s gonna be a little bit winded and I think he tires in the second round. We’re gonna be in Denver, so its gonna be worse than normal and then I’m gonna start picking him apart. I think I’m a better striker than he is and I have better grappling than he does, even on the ground I think I have the advantage. I think in a round, I’m gonna finish him,” says Moffet.

UFC Fight Night Denver takes place on Saturday, November 10 from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado with Frankie Edgar and Chan Sung Jung headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
