The WBC world heavyweight championship will be on the line at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York when Deontay Wilder returns to the venue to fight top contender Luis Ortiz on Showtime.
Wilder’s aiming to further cement his status as the best heavyweight in the world when he faces Ortiz, arguably his toughest opponent to date on March 3, and the fight promises to be a heavy-hitting brawl, given both fighter’s impressive knockout numbers. The fight has been months in the making, originally supposed to take place last November before Ortiz violated the WBC’s Clean Boxing Program and the fight was called off. Now Wilder is out for revenge and Ortiz is looking to become the first man to defeat Wilder in the pro ranks and spoil a potential superfight between unified world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and Wilder.
