AJ McKee has emerged from prodigy to prospect to main eventer in quick order in Bellator MMA.
A remarkable 9-0 in Bellator MMA, McKee looks to move to 10-0 in the headlining fight against Brian Moore after James Gallagher withdrew from the fight. McKee, clearly ready to pick a fight with Gallagher, referred to him as "Princess" Gallagher in an interview with Fightful's James Lynch.
When speaking about his opponent in Moore, McKee isn't giving him much of a chance.
"I feel he's going to be in a world of trouble. He's too small, I'm a lot faster. He's going to have to put it all on the line," said McKee."I'm looking for a knockout. I don't get touched, I don't get hit. Everyone says I haven't fought anyone. They can't touch me. I'm doing things people don't know about."
After his Bellator 187 fight, McKee has his eye on making history. Specifically, he wants to break a record held by often-controversial UFC star Jon Jones.
"I want to fight any top 5 contender, hopefully top 3 to make it better and get that title shot right after that. Be the youngest champion ever at 23. Jon Jones did it at 23, I'm 22, so let's do it," said McKee.
With his teammate "Baby Slice" Kevin Ferguson Jr also on the Bellator 187 card, McKee also took time to put over Team Bodyshop.
"Jody Davis, Aaron Pico, Marlon, we have a squad. We call it the Bellator takeover," McKee said. "(Pico) is a grinder. He's been like that since he's been a kid.
