Ian Heinisch is making his UFC debut this Saturday Night as a last second replacement against Cezar Ferreira at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires.
The late replacement fighter is excited to compete at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires, because he felt all the training in recent months hadn’t been amounting to anything until the call happened.
“I believe Friday…Thursday or Friday, they put this across the table for me and I jumped on it. I think its a great opportunity for me and I’m just excited because I’ve been training, but it felt like there was nothing at the end of all that training. Now I’m out here and I’m on the main card, what more can I ask for,” says Heinisch in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.
Heinisch may be making his UFC debut in this bout, but he did defeat Justin Sumter on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 15.
This may be Heinisch’s UFC debut, but that hasn’t stopped the fighter from predicting a quick finish at UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires.
“I feel like if I can kind of engage in a brawl with him, its gonna favor me and kind of put pressure on him and let him know…like I’m not messing around in there. Even though he’s a seasoned vet, I don’t care…I don’t respect that. I respect him as a fighter, but I’m going to go in there and take whats mine. I’m expecting a first round finish, but I’m ready for a war,” says Heinisch.
UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires takes place on Saturday, November 17 from Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Neil Magny and Santiago Ponzinibbio headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
