Leonard Ellerbe Talks UFC Helping With Mayweather vs. McGregor

Leonard Ellerbe was likely a virtual unknown to MMA fans before a couple of months ago, but the Mayweather Promotions CEO has been a fixture in the Mayweather camp for years.

Fightful.com spoke to Ellerbe Thursday night ahead of the huge fight, where he was quick to tout the event's impressive undercard

"I know we have a huge event. We have a stacked card, a terrific undercard leading to the main event -- Mayweather vs. McGregor, and that's going to be electrifying from the opening bell," said Ellerbe.

Pay-per-view is driving the show, with many expecting the fight to reach record numbers. The card will have the benefit of airing on UFC.TV as well, with UFC helping out on the digital end of pay-per view.

"UFC has done a phenomenal job. It's always great to work with a professional group," Ellerbe said. "They know what they're doing. I have a great deal of respect for Dana and what they've done with the UFC. He's built it from the ground up and turned it into a top flight organization."

Ellerbe would go on to tout the success story of Mayweather, mentioning how the fighter changed the culture and pay of boxing. Ellerbe hopes that undercard fighter Gervonta "Tank" Davis can follow Floyd's lead.

"Gervonta Davis, he'll put on an electrifying performance, and he'll be looking to steal the show," said Ellerbe.
