Olivier Aubin-Mercier returns to the Octagon this Saturday Night at UFC On Fox 30, opening up the main card against Alex Hernandez.
While their overall professional MMA experience is relatively close, it is Aubin-Mercier with more UFC experience than Hernandez and Aubin-Mercier believes that will help him get the win on Saturday Night.
“I think the experience will make the difference, especially in the UFC. I think he…I think he looked stressed in his first fight, he went crazy…it worked for him. For this fight, I don’t think it can work…everytime,” says Aubin-Mercier in an exclusive interview with Fightful’s James Lynch.
Aubin-Mercier is going to be competing for the tenth time in the UFC at UFC On Fox 30, while Hernandez makes just his second promotional appearance at the event.
The lightweight contender knows a win over Hernandez may get him a spot in the rankings and some more big fights down the line.
“To fifteen I would say, maybe the top ten. Maybe top twelve…maybe top eleven, I don’t think top ten. I’m gonna be up there, that’s for sure. Right now, there are so many people that are doing so great in the categories. There’s so many fights for me after this fight, it could happen (a move in the rankings),” says Aubin-Mercier.
UFC On Fox 30 takes place on Saturday, July 28 from the Scotiabank Center in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox.
