UFC welterweight contenders Geoff Neal and Shavkat Rakhmonov are set to collide at the promotion's first card of 2023 on January 14 at a yet-to-be-announced UFC Fight Night event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
ESPN's Brett Okamoto was the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works via a tweet, although the promotion has yet to officially confirm anything regarding the event or booking. Neal is 2-2 in his last four fights and is coming off a third-round KO win over Vicente Luque at UFC Vegas 59. Rakhmonov meanwhile is 4-0 under the UFC banner since debuting with the promotion back in October 2020 and will try to build off of a second-round submission victory over Neil Magny at UFC Vegas 57.
