Glover Teixeira is one of the best strikers in the UFC Light Heavyweight Division, while double champion Conor McGregor is one of the best strikers at lightweight and featherweight. The veteran Glover likes his contemporary McGregor so much that he compared the Irishman to the legendary Muhammad Ali.
"Of course he deserves the success he achieved, you can't say otherwise. How I can say it's not? He sells, he knows how to talk, he's smart, he's no fool. McGregor doesn't fight, he just reacts, he's never first to throw a punch. He goes in there to tease, not to fight. He's like Muhammad Ali. McGregor sells the show and fights well, he's a real athlete who doesn't get out of shape and is always training. He's a high level guy who sells and deserves it. Who deserves it more than him? There's no other. Maybe Mighty Mouse, but he doesn't put on a show. McGregor does what he promises,” Teixeira said to Combate.
Teixeira hasn’t competed since suffering a knockout loss to Anthony Johnson at UFC 201, while McGregor hasn’t competed since defeating Eddie Alvarez by second round TKO at UFC 205 to become the first man to hold two belts simultaneously in the UFC.
