Glover Teixeira is coming off of a win over Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC Vegas 13, but now the fighter needs Dana White to grant him a second opportunity at the light heavyweight gold.
A victorious Teixeira knows that White is a fair man, but he also knows that White is a business man.
“Dana’s a business guy. He’s gonna do (what’s good for the business),” Teixeira said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via Milan Ordonez of Bloody Elbow). “But also, I’m telling you this: he’s a fair man. I see some people complain about Dana; I’ve got no complaints about Dana.”
Teixeira had previously fought then champion Jon Jones for the light heavyweight gold at UFC 172, with Teixeira suffering a unanimous decision loss on that night.
The fighter doesn’t just have good things to say about White, but he also has a lot of positive things to say about the UFC as a whole.
“You look at the staff, the whole staff, from the security to the nutritionists, everybody. Everybody’s happy. They want to be there. They look like they want to be in the UFC,” Teixeira said. “It’s so great to fight in the UFC because the whole staff, they treat you so well. The people are happy to work there. And that says a lot about Dana. He’s a big boss and people are happy to work for him.”
