Grant Dawson competed on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night Wichita, defeating Julian Erosa by unanimous decision.
The fighter has an eye set towards the future and would like his next opponent to be Shane Young.
“I’ve got a list of guys I want to fight,” Dawson said to MMA Junkie. “I won’t say anything right now. We’ll wait for the UFC to call. I would like to fight Shane Young. I think that would be a great fight. He comes forward, I come forward and it would be a great fight for both of us.”
Young was last seen in action at UFC 234, defeating Austin Arnett by unanimous decision, which would serve as his second straight win under the UFC banner.
Dawson wants to get back in action as soon as possible, especially after sitting on the month for over a year due to issues with USADA.
“Let’s get after it,” Dawson said. “I’ve had 14 months off, I’m ready to go again. My jaw hurts a little bit but I just got punched in the face.”
There has been no response from Young at this time as to whether or not he accepts the challenge from a surging Dawson.
