Dan Hooker will replace former UFC lightweight champion, Rafael dos Anjos, who is recovering from knee surgery, and face Islam Makhachev at UFC 267 on October 30 in Abu Dhabi.
ESPN's Brett Okamoto was the first to report the news of Hooker stepping in for dos Anjos and confirmed the change with UFC President Dana White. Hooker takes the fight literally just days after beating Nasrat Haqparast via a unanimous decision at UFC 266 this past weekend. Makhachev meanwhile is currently on an eight-fight winning streak and defeated Thiago Moises via a fourth-round submission due to a rear-naked choke at UFC Vegas 31 in his most recent Octagon appearance.
