Israel Adesanya Claims Jon Jones Was Better Before USADA

UFC Interim Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya and UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker will clash in the main event of UFC 243.

Jon Jones is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and Adesanya says that Jones was a better fighter before the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) started testing him.

“I saw him live, he doesn’t have it,” Adesanya said when he appeared on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via Harry Davies of Bloody Elbow). “He was great when he was fighting and there wasn’t USADA around, but now, the man needs to get back on the pictograms if he wants to be great again.”

The UFC Light Heavyweight Champion heard the comments made by the interim middleweight champion and responded to them via Twitter:

Jones has had multiple issues with USADA and drug testing over the years, most notably before UFC 200 and in-line with UFC 214.

A super fight could happen between the two title holders, which would most likely require Adesanya to jump up a weight class to light heavyweight.
