In the main event of UFC 259, Jan Blachowicz was able to retain his UFC light heavyweight title against UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya via unanimous decision at UFC 259.

It was a back and forth affair, as both fighters hit calculating shots against one another. At several points, it looked like Adesanya would take down Blachowicz. The latter, however, would hit several takedowns and secure top position in the later rounds. Blachowicz landed one last takedown in the fifth. He was able to retain his title while also ending the undefeated streak of Adesanya.
