Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith are set to headline the UFC Fight Night Stockholm event this coming June.
It would appear than Jan Blachowicz was initially offered the opportunity to face Gustafsson for a second time, but had to turn the opportunity down.
The fighter would take to Twitter to announce that an elbow injury was the reason the rematch with Gustafsson was turned down.
A week ago I was offered a rematch with @AlexTheMauler. Went for a medical checkup and found out I still have to take some time off to fully heal my elbow. Had to turn it down. Bloody elbow... Good luck Alex and @lionheartasmith U know we'll meet each other soon.@UFCEurope @UFC

Blachowicz and Gustafsson met for the first time at UFC Fight Night 93, with Gustafsson pulling out a unanimous decision win on that night. Blachowicz went onto win four of six since the first meeting, while Gustafsson has won just one of two.
UFC Fight Night Stockholm takes place on Saturday, June 1 from the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden with Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
