A middleweight division attraction has been added to the UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires card, which was announced during the UFC 228 broadcast, as Jared Cannonier faces Alessio Di Chirico.
Cannonier (10-4-0) is making his UFC Middleweight Division debut in this bout, having previously competed at light heavyweight and heavyweight. Cannonier also enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, having dropped bouts to the duo of Jan Blachowicz and Dominick Reyes. Cannonier is a former Alaska Fighting Championships Heavyweight Champion, defeating Tony Lopez to win the gold in January of 2014.
Di Chirico (12-2-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Julian Marquez and Oluwale Bamgbose. Di Chirico has suffered two defeats as a professional MMA fighter, with both coming in UFC competition to Bojan Velickovic and Eric Spicely. Di Chirico is winless on “Fight Night” cards, having dropped a bout to the aforementioned Velickovic at UFC Fight Night 86.
UFC Fight Night Buenos Aires takes place on Saturday, November 17 from Luna Park in Buenos Aires, Argentina with Neil Magny and Santiago Ponzinibbio headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on Fox Sports 1.
