Joe Rogan Backtracks COVID Take: "I'm Not An Anti-Vaxx Person"

One of the most popular figures in entertainment history, Joe Rogan wants to clear the air on recent controversial comments he has made.

Rogan, a voice of the UFC for years, is listened to by millions of people thanks to The Joe Rogan Experience. The podcast, now on Spotify thanks to a deal worth billions, has hosted health experts before who have discussed COVID-19. Rogan has received backlash for saying that young people who are healthy do not need to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

Rogan ended up responding to the criticism he has received from all over as a result of his comments.

"I'm not an anti-vaxx person," Rogan went on to say (h/t Axios). "I said I believe they're safe and I encourage many people to take them. My parents were vaccinated. I just said that if you're a young, healthy person that you don't need it."

"Their argument was, you need it for other people ... But that's a different argument. That's a different conversation."

During the program, Rogan admitted he was scheduled to get the Johnson & Johnson vaccine before medical concerns paused the distribution of the vaccine. Many consider Rogan to be a good source of information, whether through his guests or himself. Even during the pandemic, subscriptions for Spotify saw a boost due in part to Rogan's podcast. Rogan made sure to state he is not one of the many health experts he has had on the show.

"I'm not a doctor, I'm a fucking moron," Rogan went on to say. "I'm not a respected source of information, even for me... But I at least try to be honest about what I'm saying."
