Adesanya and UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones have had traded shots at each other over the last few months, but Jones recently took to Twitter to go off on the interim champion:
.@stylebender Keep convincing yourself that one day you’ll be ready to face a boss like me. I’ll keep convincing myself that when that day comes, I will make you my absolute bitch.

I can see you’re starting to sip your own Kool-Aid, I know how it feels, I’ve been there before. Only I was around 23. Just don’t become delusional kid, fuck with a beast like me and I will expose you.

It would appear that the ever growing rivalry between Jones and Adesanya could be settled in the Octagon, as UFC President Dana White seems open to the bout.
“Those guys have been talking smack back and forth,” White said to Sky Sports New Zealand (via Farah Hannoun of MMA Junkie). “If Israel wins and he really does want to fight Jon Jones, that’s a really big fight.”
UFC 243 takes place on Saturday, October 5 from the Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia with Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
