Current WWE Universal Champion and former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar is expected to return to the UFC next year. Jones says a potential fight against the former UFC Heavyweight Champion is something that is always appealing to him.
“Fighting Brock Lesnar is aways appealing,” Jones said on the UFC 232 conference call. “That’s a win-win situation. That’s a huge money fight and that’s me fighting a guy who’s a hell of a lot bigger than me and everyone wins in that situation.”
Lesnar hasn’t fought since UFC 200 and is still serving a suspension for a failed drug test in line with the same event.
Jones says that if the bout does take place, it would be his courage that would give the former light heavyweight champion the win in the end.
“I win because of the courage it takes to step in there against a guy who’s way bigger than you, I win because of the pay-per-view that will follow, the fans will win. It would be great for the sport and it’d be good for everyone involved. So I’m totally up for that,” says Jones.
UFC 232 takes place on Saturday, December 29 from The Forum in Inglewood, California with Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
