UFC bantamweight contenders José Aldo and Merab Dvalishvili are scheduled to face off at UFC 278 on August 20 at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Journalist Ariel Helwani was the first to report the news of the matchup being in the works via a tweet, although the promotion has yet to officially confirm the booking themselves. Aldo is currently riding a three-fight winning streak and is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Rob Font at UFC Vegas 44. Dvalishvili on the other hand is 7-0 in his last seven Octagon appearances and will look to build on a second-round TKO victory over Marlon Moraes at UFC 266.
