If Nurmagomedov was looking for work outside of MMA, now may be the perfect time because the fighter was recently offered a job by the Dagestan government.
“Yes, [I received an offer to become an assistant to the Head of Dagestan], but we will discuss this at the next meeting, [which] we will have soon,” Nurmagomedov told Tass.ru.
There aren’t many details exactly at the moment as to what that job will entail or if Nurmagomedov can hold that position while still being a fighter for the UFC.
Vladimir Vasilyev is the Head Of The Republic Of Dagestan and he also have some words of praise for Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who is Khabib’s father.
“All men dream of a son that they can help become talented, successful, strong, courageous,” Vasilyev said. “But you managed to raise a person that Dagestan and the whole country can be proud of.”
Nurmagomedov’s fighting future is still a little cloudy at the moment because he and McGregor are still awaiting potential punishments from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for their role in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
