Linton Vassell has failed twice in his quest to capture the Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight Title and has now decided that a career change is needed.
That change comes in the form of what weight class the fighter will compete in because Vassell is moving from light heavyweight to heavyweight.
The fighter made the announcement himself via Twitter:

Vassell has found success at light heavyweight, despite the pair of title losses, with some notable wins coming over Virgil Zwicker, Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Emanuel Newton, UFC veteran Francis Carmont and former Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Liam McGeary.
This is the first time in Vassell’s professional MMA career that he has competed at heavyweight and that career began in September of 2008. Vassell now moves up to a division that currently has no champion, as the ongoing Bellator Heavyweight World Grand Prix is going to be crowning that champion.
There is no word at this time as to when Vassell will make his divisional debut or whom that bout could come against, but the fighter is moving up a weight class while on a two bout losing streak.
