Rizin 5 has a main event and it will be taking place at catchweight as UFC veteran Kyoji Horiguchi will be in action against Yuki Motoya.
Horiguchi (18-2-0) will be making his Rizin debut in this fight, after spending the last three-plus years of his career competing in the UFC. Horiguchi won seven of eight fights under the UFC banner, with that lone defeat coming to UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson. Horiguchi will also be entering the fight riding a three fight winning streak, which has lasted over a year.
Motoya (18-4-0-1NC) has already competed twice under the Rizin banner, defeating Allan Nascimento and then fighting Felipe Efrain to a no contest. Motoya has primarily competed in the Deep promotion, where 17 of his 18 wins as a pro came at. Motoya will be entering the fight ridng a three fight winning streak.
Other notables competing on the card will be UFC veterans Anthony Birchak, Tatsuya Kawajiri, Daron Cruickshank and Heath Herring, plus professional wrestler Jazzy Garbert (who competes in wrestling as The Alpha Female).
Rizin 5 takes place on Sunday, April 16 from the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan with Kyoji Horiguchi and Yuki Motoya headlining.
