Manny Pacquiao Confirms Conor McGregor Boxing Discussions For "All The Filipino COVID-19 Victims"

Manny Pacquiao vs. Conor McGregor may indeed be a reality.

On Friday, McGregor revealed his next combat sports endeavor will likely be a boxing match against the legend Pacquiao. Many fans dismissed it as noise; however, a new statement from Pacquiao's team adds levity to the story.

“For the sake of all the Filipino COVID-19 victims, Senator Manny Pacquiao will be fighting UFC superstar Conor McGregor next year,” Pacquiao aide Jayke Joson said in a statement, per Bad Left Hook. “A huge portion of his earnings will proceed to those who are affected nationwide by the pandemic.”

It is worth noting McGregor and Pacquaio share the same manager, Audie Attar. The manager told ESPN on Friday the two superstars are in serious talks but no deal has been reached.

The two-division UFC champion has one professional boxing bout on his resume, a 10th-round TKO loss to Floyd Mayweather on August 26, 2017. Pacquiao (62-7-2) rides a three-fight winning streak after dispatching Keith Thurman via split decision on July 20, 2019.
