Matt Serra Calls Conor McGregor An Attention Whore

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor found himself at the center of controversy again when he hopped in the cage to celebrate with teammate Charlie Ward at Bellator 187.

Matt Serra is a former UFC Welterweight Champion and he believes that McGregor is nothing more than an attention whore.

“The point is this: He makes it about himself,” Serra said on UFC Unfiltered. “He doesn’t make it about his friends. He’s not doing that to support his friends… Dude – you’re an attention whore. That’s not respectful to your fighter. And what about him jumping on the cage and smacking the official? If I did that, if anybody did that, they’d be called a f-cking asshole. How does this guy get a pass?… He’s acting like a f-cking asshole.”

Besides hopping the cage, the UFC Lightweight Champion also made unwanted contact with Bellator MMA and ABC officials.

Serra also doesn’t understand why the UFC continues to allow their champion to act in such a way.

“I just think it’s f-cking silly that people are like, ‘Ahh, well, that’s Conor, he’s bigger than life!’ He’s allowed to smack somebody? Man, f-ck that dude. I don’t give a f-ck,” says Serra.

While McGregor hasn’t received any official punishment for his action, an ABC official recently stated that the UFC kept the fighter off UFC 219 due to the situation.
