Michael Chiesa has his post-fight career on lock.

Michael Chiesa, who is ranked no. 8 in the UFC welterweight division, recently spent time on Fight Island as an analyst for various UFC events on ESPN and ESPN+.

The welterweight star believes that trip over to Fight Island has cemented his future as an MMA analyst.

“I feel like I’ve taken advantage of this trip and I’ve stapled my spot,” Chiesa said during a recent media scrum (via Mike Bohn & John Morgan of MMA Junkie). “I’m going to be one of the guys that’s going to be behind the desk for the duration of my career. I feel like I’ve kind of cemented that.”

Chiesa last competed at UFC Fight Night Raleigh in January of 2020, defeating Rafael Dos Anjos by unanimous decision. Fans who want to see Chiesa in the Octagon won’t have to worry, as he’ll still be competing inside the Octagon for the foreseeable future.

“I’m a fighter – that’s what I do,” Chiesa said. “Seeing these guys compete – I know a lot of the matchups that are going down at 170 pounds. I know what guys are available. I know what we’re looking for. I was hoping to leave here with a matchup, but it doesn’t matter. I’m hungry. I want to fight. I want to compete, and I want to win a world title.”
