Tomorrow was set to be the day for the next Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) meeting, but that won’t be happening any longer.

The commission has decided to postpone their next meeting due to coronavirus concerns, issuing the following statement on the matter (via MMA Junkie):

“Please be advised that due to the ongoing concern and consideration of the health and safety of the public in regard to the COVID-19 virus, the Regular Monthly Meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission scheduled for Wednesday March 25, 2020 at 9:00 AM has been cancelled.  The Commission will determine at a later date when the next regularly scheduled meeting will be held.”

This meeting was going to be an important one for the UFC, as the promotion was hoping the NAC would allow events to run in the state again, which would have allowed the promotion to use the UFC Apex to run empty arena events.

With the meeting officially being canceled, it means that the state ban on combat sports events will run through the initial March 25 date. There is no word at this time as to when the NAC will reconvene or when the ban on events in the state will come to an end.
