Former UFC lightweight title challenger Nate Diaz made it clear he's not interested in a potential matchup with undefeated welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev.
Diaz spoke with TMZ Sports while outside the Brickhouse Boxing Club in North Hollywood, California, and responded with the following when asked about how he feels about fighting Chimaev. The 36-year old Stockton, California native has one fight left on his current UFC contract and feels disrespected by the promotion offering him what he perceives as a "rookie" fighter in Chimaev.
"They're coming at me with him [Khamzat], and I'm like, 'hold on, don't disrespect me like that," Diaz said. "You're going trying to offer me a fight with a rookie.' I'm cool, you got 4 fights in the UFC. Don't even talk my name. Fight the newer guys in the UFC. There's levels to this and I don't even want to hear his name. You're a new rookie, deal with new people. I'm fighting a top-five guy ASAP, let's do January in Anaheim."
