The main event has been set for the upcoming Invicta Fighting Championsips 30 card as Jinh Yu Frey and Minna Grusander will battle for the vacant atomweight strap.
Frey (6-3-0) has won just one of her last three bouts heading into that card, with that last win coming over Ashley Cummins at Invicta FC 24. Frey is headlining an Invicta FC card for the first time in her run with the promotion, which began in September of 2014. Frey had previously challenged for the Invicta FC Atomweight Title, losing to then champion Ayaka Hamasaki at Invicta FC 19.
Grusander (6-1-0) is currently undefeated under the Invicta FC banner, having defeated Fernanda Priscila Barros Pinheiro at Invicta FC 28. Grusander has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to UFC veteran Syuri Kondo at Pancrase 284. Grusander also won the 2015 IMMAF World Championships as an amateur atomweight, defeating Maria Vittoria Colonna in the finals.
Invicta Fighting Championships 30 takes place on Saturday, July 21 from the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri with Jinh Yu Frey and Minna Grusander headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on UFC Fight Pass.
