Nick Diaz hasn’t stepped foot in the Octagon since fighting former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva to a no contest at UFC 183 in January of 2015.
A lot of fans are wondering just when Diaz may return to action, but the fighter says that decision isn’t up to him.
”It’s not up to me,” Diaz said on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show (via Steven Marrocco of MMA Fighting). “I’m like, ‘Do you want some? Because you can get it.’ I mean, generally, I go in and show someone their life. It’s up to them whether they want to deal with it.”
Diaz and Jorge Masvidal were linked for a potential fight at UFC 235 earlier this year, but the fighter issued a statement saying no such bout was agreed upon.
The fighter also puts a potential return to action in the hands of the UFC and UFC President Dana White.
”I explained to you exactly what’s going on, so it’s on you folks,” he said. “It’s on you Dana. It’s on you UFC. It’s on them. It’s in your hands now – Cowboy Stadium.”
One person who Diaz could potentially face in a return is the aforementioned Masvidal, as Diaz claimed that he is the true BMF Champion and Masvidal isn’t.
