One Championship will run their first event this Friday with One Championship: A New Tomorrow, which is headlined by Rodtang Jitmuangnon defending the flyweight muay thai world championship against Jonathan Haggerty.
Chatri Sityodtong, who is the CEO of One Championship, has stated through various social media platforms that the promotion is targeting 50 events this year and a possible debut in North America (via MMA Junkie):
“I am thrilled to announce that ONE Championship will produce a record high 50 events in 2020 (vs. our prior record of 42 events in 2019) across our key properties: ONE Championship, ONE Super Series, ONE Hero Series, ONE Warrior Series, and ONE Esports.”
The promotion currently has ten events listed on their website at the moment, ranging from this Friday's card until the middle of June. While the promotion has yet to run an event in North America, a media day was held last year with some of the promotion’s biggest stars. The promotion has also expanded its reach internationally in recent years with an expanded broadcast deal that has seen One Championship air events on Bleacher Report Live and TNT.
