Paul Felder was set to fight at UFC 223, but then opponent Al Iaquinta was bumped up to the main event against UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The fighter was also on the bus attacked by former UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor and he claims that UFC staff members were tossed around during the ruckus.
“It was scary. I really felt for the UFC staff. I saw some of them getting tossed around and thrown around by some of Conor’s guys. They were in their 50’s too, they were not young guys that were out there. They weren’t fist fighting. They were just making a scene, throwing sh*t at a bus. It was just stupid,” Felder said on The MMA Hour.
McGregor did turn himself into authorities for the attack, but has faced no repercussions from the UFC for the craziness days before UFC 223.
Felder even thought that some of McGregor’s goons could have been carry weapons during the attack.
“Then I saw Conor and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ There’s Conor running around in the Barclays Center and I couldn’t believe it. I was waiting for someone to pull out a serious weapon. Depending on who you are messing with, you don’t know what these guys are bringing with them,” said Felder.
There has been no future bouts announced for Felder at this point, who is currently in the midst of a three fight winning streak.
