Retired boxer Paulie Malignaggi and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor have been at odds ever since the McGregor camp released the photo of Malignaggi possibly being dropped during a sparring session.
The rivalry has led to Malignaggi claiming that he must step into the ring to box McGregor, but nothing has even come close to being made official at this time.
However, the odds for the hypothetical fight between the two would seem to favor the retired boxer over the UFC champion.
According to Pro Boxing Odds, the retired Malignaggi would open as a -225 favorite, while McGregor would be the underdog at +175.
A potential fight with Malignaggi has to be in the back of McGregor’s mind at this point because hs must first battle the legendary Floyd Mayweather this Saturday Night.
Just for perspective, the website Bovada has McGregor listed as a +300 underdog for his super fight with McGregor, who sits at -400. Which means that while McGregor is an underdog in both fights, the odds say he has a better chance to defeat Malignaggi than he does against Mayweather.
Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather takes place on Saturday, August 26 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
