Antonio Arroyo needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo after Kevin Holland was shifted to a different card and now he has one because Marcel Dorff of MMA DNA (citing ESPN MMA) is stating that Alessio Di Chirico has accepted the short notice opportunity.
Arroyo (9-2-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a five fight winning streak. Arroyo competed twice on Dana White’s Contender Series, defeating the two pack of Adriano Miranda Da Silva and Diego Henrique Da Silva. Arroyo has suffered two losses as a professional MMA fighter and both of them came by way of submission.
Di Chirico (12-4-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Makhmud Muradov and the aforementioned Holland. Di Chirico has seen his last three professional MMA bouts go the distance and it has been nearly two years since the fighter got a finish. Di Chirico has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to be beaten by way of KO/TKO.
UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo takes place on Saturday, November 16 from the Ibirapueroa Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil with Jan Blachowicz and Ronaldo Souza headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
