Brendan Allen was in need of a new opponent for UFC Fight Night Boston after the withdrawal of Eric Spicely and now he has one because a report from MMA Junkie is stating that Kevin Holland has been moved from UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo to face Allen. Holland was supposed to face Antonio Arroyo at UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo and Arroyo will now need a new opponent for that card.
Allen (12-3-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this encounter and does so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Allen competed in Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 4, defeating Aaron Jeffrey by first round submission. Allen has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all three of those defeats came to current UFC fighters.
Holland (15-4-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight winning streak, defeating the three pack of John Phillips, Gerald Meerschaert and Alessio Di Chirico. Holland also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 9, defeating Will Santiago Jr. by unanimous decision. Holland has suffered four losses as a professional MMA fighter and three of them came by way of decision.
UFC Fight Night Boston takes place on Friday, October 18 from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with Dominick Reyes and Chris Weidman headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
