After running into Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, Alexander Hernandez's octagon return is reportedly booked.
Hernandez (10-2) entered the octagon with two impressive victories, knocking out Beneil Dariush before outpointing Olivier Aubin-Mercier as well. Those wins earned the prospect a UFC Lightweight ranking but he fell short opposite Cerrone, being stopped in the 2nd round. According to a report from Cageside Press that's since been confirmed by MMA Fighting, Hernandez will now look to return to the win column, taking on Francisco Trinaldo at UFC Fight Night San Antonio.
The Brazilian is without a ranking but could likely earn one here, taking on #13 in Hernandez. Trinaldo (23-6) hasn't fought since last September, stopping Evan Dunham in the 2nd round. That result continued Trinaldo's recent inconsistency, going 2-2 in his last four after previously winning seven straight. Trinaldo made his octagon debut in 2012, since compiling an impressive 13-5 UFC record. He's scored notable wins opposite Jim Miller, Paul Felder and Ross Pearson but has also fallen short against names such as Kevin Lee, James Vick and Michael Chiesa.
