A heavyweight division attraction could be coming to the forthcoming UFC 224 card per Farah Hannoun as #11 Alexey Oleynik may fight #13 Junior Albini.
Oleynik (55-11-1) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those two wins coming over Travis Browne and Viktor Pesta. Oleynik earned the only ezekial choke submission win in UFC history and that came against the aforementioned Pesta at UFC Fight Night 103. Oleynik also competed twice in Bellator MMA competition, with the lone win in the promotion coming over Mike Hayes at Bellator 26.
Albini (14-3-0) is looking to rebound from his first loss under the UFC banner and that came to Andrei Arlovski at UFC Fight Night Norfolk. Albini spent the majority of his professional MMA career competing in Brazil, fighting in such promotions as Aspera FC. Albini is also fighting a top 15 ranked opponent for the third time during his UFC tenure, which has lasted all of two fights at this point in time.
UFC 224 takes place on Saturday, May 12 from the Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
