Report: Amanda Nunes vs. Megan Anderson Off UFC 256 Card

Next month’s UFC 256 card is down a title bout because an encounter between UFC women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson has been pulled from the card.

Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the news, but no reason has been given for the fight cancellation at this time. This is also the second title fight to be pulled from the UFC 256 card, as a welterweight championship encounter between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns was pulled a short time back

Anderson took to Twitter a short time after the news broke to wish Nunes a speedy recovery, while also saying the bout will get rescheduled for next year.

If no further title bouts are announced for the card, it would mean that a bantamweight title fight between champion Petr Yan and challenger Aljamain Sterling would headline to UFC 256 event.

UFC 256 takes place on Saturday, December 12 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which is going to be streaming live on ESPN+.
