A middleweight match-up has been added to Bellator 246 as Austin Vanderford is in action against Daniel Madrid.

Vanderford (9-0-0) has already picked up three wins in Bellator, with those coming over Cody Jones, Joseph Creer and Grachik Bozinyan. Vanderford also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 13, defeating Angel Trevino by unanimous decision. Vanderford is a former CageSport featherweight champion, defeating Ben Fodor at CageSport 47 to win the gold.
Madrid (17-6-0) is making his Bellator debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a four fight winning streak. Madrid is also competing for the first time in over a year, as his last bout took place at LFA 72 in July of 2019. Madrid has picked up fifteen of his seventeen wins by way of submission, with another coming by decision.
Bellator 246 takes place on Saturday, September 12 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Juan Archuleta and Patrick Mix headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
