Report: Brian Ortega Injured, Out Of UFC Fight Night Busan Main Event

The UFC is closing out 2019 with UFC Fight Night Busan, but the show will now be going on without one of its headliners because Brian Ortega has suffered an undisclosed injury and has been pulled from the card.

Ariel Helwani of ESPN first reported the news, but the exact injury Ortega suffered or how long he is expected to be out of action for is unknown at this time. Chan Sung Jung, who was set to face Ortega on the main event, is expected to compete on the card as UFC officials are seeking a replacement for him to fight.

Jung (15-5-0) has rotated wins and losses in his last five UFC appearances, with the latest bout being a first round TKO win over Renato Moicano at UFC Fight Night Greenville. Jung has previously challenged for the UFC Featherweight Title, losing to then champion Jose Aldo at UFC 163. Jung is headlining his sixth straight UFC card, holding a 3-2-0 record in those previous five main event appearances.

A short time after the news broke, an injured Ortega would take to Instagram to state that an ACL injury is what lead to his withdrawal:
