A middleweight division attraction has been added to UFC 228 according to MMA Fighting as Charles Byrd is in action against Darren Stewart.
Byrd (10-4-0) is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated John Philips by first round submission at UFC Fight Night London. Byrd also competed on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 1 and 6, defeating Jamie Pickett and Randall Wallace at those events. Byrd enters the bout on the strength of a four fight winning streak and he hasn't suffered a defeat in over three years.
Stewart (8-3-0-1NC) has won just one of five fights thus far in the UFC, with that lone win coming over Eric Spicely at UFC Fight Night Liverpool. Syewart also competed three times in the UK-based Cage Warriors promotion, defeating the trio of Paul Adetola, Boubacar Balde and James Hurrell. Stewart has picked up a total of eight wins as a professional MMA fighter, but he has yet to earn a victory by way of submission.
