According to ESPN's Ariel Helwani, a pivotal Bantamweight bout has been added to UFC 241.
Cory Sandhagen (11-1) recently scored a career-best win, outpointing John Linker at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale. He now takes on another top contender though, taking on Raphael Assuncao on August 17th. Sanhagen is undefeated in the octagon, going 4-0 and winning six straight since his decision loss to Jamall Emmers. The recent success has already placed Sanhagen at #8 in the UFC's Bantamweight rankings.

On the other hand, Assuncao's own win streak has recently come to an end. After losing a rematch to TJ Dillashaw, Assuncao had returned to his prior form, winning four straight until Marlon Moraes submitted him in February of this year. Even still, Assuncao remains highly ranked, currently 3rd with a resume including wins over Rob Font, Aljamain Sterling as well as the aforementioned Moraes and Dillashaw. With that being said, a win here feels pivotal for his title aspirations.
The UFC's 135 lbs title is currently vacant after Dillashaw's failed USADA drug test. It's vacancy will be concluded at UFC 238, with Marlon Moraes taking on Flyweight Champion Henry Cejuodo.
UFC 241 takes place on August 17th and will air on ESPN+ PPV. The event's full card can be found below:
