A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to UFC Fight Night Sacramento according to Brett Okamoto of ESPN as #11 Cynthia Calvillo is in action against Livia Renata Souza.
Calvillo (8-1-0) enters the contest while in the midst of a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Poliana Botelho and Cortney Casey. Calvillo has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Carla Esparza via decision at UFC 219. Calvillo is currently undefeated thus far on Fight Night cards, holding a 2-0-0 record on such events.
Souza (13-1-0) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, defeating the duo of Alex Chambers and Sarah Frota. Souza is a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Katja Kankaanpaa to win the gold at Invicta FC 12. Souza has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Angela Hill at Invicta FC 17.
UFC Fight Night Sacramento takes place on Saturday, July 13 from a location to be announced in Sacramento, California with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
