A women’s strawweight division encounter has been added to UFC Fight Night Sao Paulo 2018 according to Raphael Marinho of Combate as Livia Renata Souza faces Alex Chambers.
Souza (11-1-0) is making her UFC debut in this contest and does so on the strength of a two fight winning streak. Souza is also a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Katja Kankaanpaa by fourth round submission at Invicta FC 12 to win the gold. Souza also defeated current Invicta FC Atomweight Champion Ayaka Hamasaki by knockout in a non-title affair at Invicta FC 22.
Chambers (5-4-0) has won just one of four fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Kailin Curran at UFC Fight Night 65. Chambers also enters the encounter on a two fight losing streak and she hasn’t picked up a victory in over three years. Chambers also competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 20, losing to Rose Namajunas in the opening round of the reality show.
