A featherweight division attraction has been added to the recently announced UFC card on July 15 as Jared Gordon faces Chris Fishgold.
MMA Fighting first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Gordon (15-4-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Dan Moret at UFC Fight Night Minneapolis. Gordon hasn’t picked up a victory in just about a year, as the victory over the aforementioned Moret came in June of 2019. Gordon is a former CFFC Featherweight Champion, defeating Bill Algeo to win the gold at CFFC 63 in February of 2017.
Fishgold (18-3-1) has won just one of three in UFC competition, with his single victory coming over Daniel Teymur at UFC Fight Night Prague. Fishgold is a former Cage Warriors Featherweight Champion and he relinquished the gold upon signing with the UFC. Fishgold hasn't competed in over a year, as his last bout came at UFC Fight Night Stockholm in June of 2019.
The recently announced UFC card is set for Saturday, July 15 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
