A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to the yet to be announced UFC card on October 17 as #5 Jessica Eye faces #2 (Strawweight) Jessica Andrade.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN first reported the bout, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Eye (15-8-0-1NC) has won just one of her last three under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Viviane Araujo at UFC 245. Eye has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 238. Eye has picked up fifteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and eleven of them have come by way of decision.
Andrade (20-8-0) is making her UFC Women’s Flyweight Division debut in this bout and does so on a two fight losing streak. Andrade is a former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion, defeating Rose Namajunas to win the gold at UFC 237. Andrade has now competed at three weight classes in the UFC, as she has now competed at strawweight, flyweight and bantamweight.
The yet to be announced UFC card takes place on Saturday, October 17 from a location to be announced and with a main event to be announced. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be announced.
