A featherweight division attraction is the latest addition to UFC Fight Night Fortaleza according to MMA Junkie as #2 Jose Aldo is in action against #4 Renato Moicano.
Aldo (27-4-0) was originally reported to be fighting Cub Swanson at UFC 233, but that bout isn’t happening in light of this new fight announcement. Aldo is a former UFC Featherweight Champion and former UFC Interim Featherweight Champion, defeating Mike Brown and Frankie Edgar to start both reigns. Aldo has won just two of his last five under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over the aforementioned Edgar and Jeremy Stephens.
Moicano (13-1-1) enters the bout on the strength of a two fight winning streak, having defeated the duo of Calvin Kattar and Cub Swanson. Moicano has suffered just a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came against Brian Ortega at UFC 214. Moicano has seen seven of his fourteen professional MMA fights go the distance and Moicano has won all of those bouts.
UFC Fight Night Fortaleza takes place on Saturday, February 2 from the Olympic Training Center in Fortaleza, Brazil with Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
