A flyweight division attraction is the latest addition to the UFC Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale according to MMA Junkie as #3 Joseph Benavidez faces Alex Perez.
Benavidez (25-5-0) has won six of his last seven under the UFC banner, with those wins coming over Tim Elliott, Dustin Ortiz, John Moraga, Ali Bagautinov, Zach Makovsky and Henry Cejudo. Benavidez has twice before challenged for the UFC Flyweight Title, losing both times to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 152 and UFC On Fox 9. Benavidez has seen his last six bouts go the distance and it has been over four years since the fighter got a finish.
Perez (21-4-0) is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated the trio of Carls John De Tomas, Eric Shelton and Jose Torres. Perez also competed on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 5, defeating Kevin Gray by first round submission. Perez is a former Tachi Palace Fights Flyweight Champion, defeating Anthony Figueroa to claim the gold at TPF 22.
