The first Fight Night card of 2020, UFC Fight Night Raleigh, has taken a hit because Josh Emmett has suffered an undisclosed injury and is out of a bout against Arnold Allen.
MMA Junkie first reported the news, but the exact nature of Emmett’s injury or how long the fighter is expected to be out of action for isn’t known at the moment. Allen is expected to remain on the card at this time, as UFC officials are seeking an opponent for him to face.
Allen (15-1-0) is undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated Alan Omer, Yaotzin Meza, Makwan Amirkhani, Mads Burnell, Jordan Rinaldi and Gilbert Melendez. Allen has suffered a single defeat as a professional MMA fighter and that came to Marcin Wrzosek at Cage Warriors 69. Allen has seen seven of his sixteen professional MMA bouts go the distance and Allen has won six of those encounters.
UFC Fight Night Raleigh takes place on Saturday, January 25 from the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina with Curtis Blaydes and Junior Dos Santos headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on ESPN+.
